Objectives

This study sets out with three objectives:

To compare growth, yield and seed quality of two dry bean cultivars: Umtata (a determinate variety) and Kranskop (an indeterminate variety) when grown under conditions prevalent in the area around Pietermaritzburg.

To determine the effect of application of nitrogen fertiliser on growth, yield and seed quality of Umtata and Kranskop dry bean cultivars when grown under these conditions.

To determine the effect of different densities of plant spacing on growth, yield and seed quality of Umtata and Kranskop dry bean cultivars when grown under these conditions.
